G(r)eek Week

So far, I haven't worn an ounce of black! Today was a sweltering 91 degrees outside so I thought I'd dream of swimming pools and summers in my new t-shirt! It's see-through and oh so soft and oh so thin! I FLOATED in that thing!

And I finally got to wear my butterfly earrings that I got for my birthday! I will admit, I am an earring addict. I'd wear any pair. No pair is too big or too weird or too out there. I'm pretty sure I have more earrings than clothes....

 Shirt - BCBG
White pants - Guess
Shoes - Antonio Melani, Dillard's
Earrings & bracelet - Guess, Macy's
Tank top - Aeropostale
Scarf - market in Kazakhstan, one of the myriad of things my other grandma bought for me

And as penance for taking my pictures, my mom immediately sent me out to pick strawberries. She grows her own, along with raspberries, cucumbers, roses, squash, radishes, and herbs. Surprisingly, they looked (and tasted) super delish!

Doesn't my outfit remind you of Greece? I don't know why, maybe it's because of this picture, but bright blue and white always makes me think of Greece.

Oh! My grandmother's coming and as a late birthday gift, she's bought me traditional German clothing - a little dress and jacket. Will post photos when she arrives!

Spring Safari

Ah! Finally I get to upload this! Wore this on Thursday. I am so proud of myself. For the longest time, I wore a lot of black. Not in the Goth way, mind you (though it is fun), but in the classic, East Coast tradition. And although white is my favorite color, black made up (still makes up) 35% of my wardrobe.

But no more! I told myself this spring I would not wear black (excessively) and so have bought up a lot of non-black clothing. Here's my new tan jacket. I realized it was absolutely necessary for summer when I laid eyes on it.

I make very odd faces in pictures, it's a quirk.

I love my black bejeweled leaf clips! My grandmother in Kazakhstan got them for me - I have loved them ever since. It's handy to pin up my hair while I'm growing it out!

Tan jacket - Express
Dress - American Eagle
Shoes - Gianni Bini, Dillard's
Purse - Kathy van Zeeland
Sunglasses - Tommy Hilfiger
Necklace - gift!

A tiny dandelion

I think we never outgrow our inner little girls (and boys). The ones who believe in magic (in its many forms - like lipgloss). The ones who dress up in their mom's clothes and makeup. I suppose this blog in a way, is a serenade to our inner children, smeared in lipstick and drowning in ballgown a few sizes too big.

Of course it's going to be about fashion, but I'm sure I will manage to be scatterbrained enough to fill it with a multitude of other things. After all, do Blue-Eyed Rogues ever color inside the lines?
